ABOUT THE MINISTRY
History
The concept of Christ’s Heartbeat Ministries International (CHMI) was initially conceived by Matthew Lee in 2016, when God gave Matthew the ministry’s mission statement “Mobilising Christians to fulfill their role in the body of Christ”. However it wasn’t until June 2017 that the concept came to maturity, when God gave him the name of the ministry. He was praying about a sentence that would make a good abbreviation to use as a name for the ministry. Heartbeat is an abbreviation for “Heavenly Equipping And Reviving Through Biblical Encouragement And Teaching”.
Once the ministry’s name and mission statement were obtained, it was time to begin the formalities of establishing the ministry. CHMI has therefore been established and registered as an NPO since January 2018. CHMI registered as an NPC with the CIPC, with the following number: 2017/658890/08. CHMI is still in the process of registering as a PBO for tax exemption with the South African Receiver of Revenue.
CHMI’s founders Matthew and Monique Lee are spiritual sons and daughters of Christian Family Church International. It is therefore befitting that the ministry has been associated with and is submitted under the covering of Apostle Theo Wolmarans and CFCI.
vision & mission statements
VISION
Christ’s Heartbeat Ministries International’s vision is based on the following statements that Jesus made:
Matthew 22:37-39
Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’
Matthew 28:19-20
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
MISSION
In order to obtain the vision, Christ’s Heartbeat Ministries International is founded on the scriptures Ephesians 4:11-12 which reads:
“Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.”
This portion of scripture further mentions in verses 13-16:
“This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.”
Based on the above portions of scripture, the Christ’s Heartbeat Ministries International mission statement is:
“Mobilising Christians to fulfil their role in the body of Christ”
Based on this mission statement, Christ’s Heartbeat Ministries International mission and description of activities are as follows:
Christ’s Heartbeat Ministries International (CHMI) is an apostolic ministry, established with the purpose of advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is accomplished through the process of birthing, developing and equipping daughter ministries to the point of full maturity.
Through the various activities of the CHMI daughter ministries, CHMI will achieve its primary objective, which is to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ. The activities of these daughter ministries may include but are not limited to:
- Spreading the Gospel through religious services, seminars, crusades, outreaches, radio, television, internet/social media, establishment of church literature and the like.
- Providing Bible-based training courses
- Providing assistance to orphans, vulnerable children and persons suffering from poverty
- Providing food, clothing and other necessities for the poor and needy and to raise funds for the furtherance of ministering and the provision of poverty relief.
- Empowering people to live abundant lives and in turn empower others
- Establishing children’s ministries, youth ministries and the like for the religious instruction of the children and youth.
Each daughter ministry that CHMI establishes will be instituted according to the following principles:
- They will fully comply with the CHMI values, as laid out in the Statement of Faith (Section3).
- Their mission and main objectives revolve primarily around advancing the gospel of Jesus Christ, with the sub-aim of these activities being that they should also be beneficial to the public.
Once these daughter ministries have been developed to maturity, they will progress to become their own separate entities. Thereafter CHMI will continue to oversee the activities of the daughter ministry, ensuring mentorship and accountability in matters concerning their governance, doctrine and their general activities. Each daughter ministry of CHMI, when separating from CHMI, will register as a separate entity, applying for its own NPO status (if applicable).
